The main singles draw for the last Grand Slam tournament in 2018 has been made on Thursday.

No.6 seed and two-time former champion will open campaign in his 13th US Open appearance against Marton Fucsovics from Hungary (ATP #40, H2H 0-0).

The reigning Wimbledon titlist might face either Viktor Troicki (SRB) or Tennys Sandgren (USA) in the second round.

Novak’s possible opponents in the later stages of the tournament are:

3rd round: Richard Gasquet (FRA, 26)
4th round: Pablo Carreno Busta (ESP, 12), Lucas Pouille (FRA, 17)
Quarter-finals: Roger Federer (SUI, 2), Fabio Fognini (ITA, 14), Hyeon Chung (23), Nick Kyrgios (30)…
Semi-finals: Alexander Zverev (GER, 4), Marin Cilic (CRO, 7), David Goffin (BEL, 10), Kei Nishikori (JPN, 21)…

Rafael Nadal (ESP, 1), Juan Martin del Potro (ARG, 3), Kevin Anderson (RSA, 5), Grigor Dimitrov (BUL, 8), Dominic Thiem (AUT, 9), John Isner (USA, 11)… are in the top half of the draw, and Nole can’t meet them before the final.

The Serbian tennis ace won 62 matches of 72 he played at the US Open.

Nole will be looking for his 14th Grand Slam title in New York, where he lifted the trophy in 2011 and 2015. Last year he skipped the event due to elbow injury.

Competitions at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows begin on August 27, and will last until September 9.
