Serbia reached the last eight of the Davis Cup by Rakuten Finals as they beat France on Thursday.

Filip Krajinovic earned the opening win, edging past Jo-Wilfried Tsonga 7-5, 7-6. Novak defeated Benoit Paire in the second match – 6-3, 6-3, to complete a perfect day for Serbia, now qualified as a winner of Group A to the quarter-finals.

In the remaining doubles dead rubber, Pierre-Hugues Herbert and Nicolas Mahut recorded a 6-4, 6-4 victory against Viktor Troicki and Janko Tipsarevic.

Serbia will play Russia (Group B runner-up) on Friday at 10.30 CET.
