Nole nominated for ESPY award

World no.2 Novak Djokovic has been nominated for an ESPY award in the Best Male Tennis Player category.

The ESPY, short for Excellence in Sports Performance Yearly, honors sports achievement in the past calendar year, with the winners decided by online fan balloting at www.espn.com/espys.

The 24-year-old Serb, who has a 46-1 record in 2011 including 7 ATP titles (1 Grand Slam – Australian Open, 4 ATP World Tour Masters 1000 events – Indian Wells, Miami, Madrid and Rome, 1 ATP 500 and 1 ATP 250 category tournament), joins Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer as nominees.

Fans can cast their votes online through July 9, and winners will be revealed during the awards show at the Nokia Theatre hosted by Saturday Night Live’s Seth Meyers on July 13 in Los Angeles.
