Nole vs Dodig in R2 of BNP Paribas Masters

The 2011 BNP Paribas Masters started on Monday.

The winner of the ninth and final ATP World Tour Masters 1000 event in 2011 will get 1000 ATP points and €454,000.

“Bonsoir Paris! Just landed to Orly and heading to Bercy to hit some balls. Thank you for your patience. I still don’t know how my shoulder will react. Will find out tonight and tomorrow morning :-) Very happy to be back to the most romantic city,” Nole wrote on his Facebook page.

Our champ will start his quest against world no.39 Croat Ivan Dodig who eliminated Italian Fabio Fognini in three sets 4-6, 6-1, 6-3.

In the third round, the 24-year-old Serbian star could meet his friend and compatriot, no.15 seed Viktor Troicki, or Kei Nishikori of Japan.

In the quarter-final, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga (FRA,6), Nicolas Almagro (ESP,9) or Nikolay Davydenko (RUS) could wait for Novak, before a possible duel with David Ferrer (ESP,4) or Gael Monfils (FRA,8) in the semis.

Andy Murray (GBR,2), Roger Federer (SUI,3), Tomas Berdych (CZE,5), Mardy Fish (USA,7), Gilles Simon (FRA,10), Janko Tipsarevic (SRB,11), Andy Roddick (USA,13)…are in the opposite side of the draw.

Last year, Nole lost to Michael Llodra in the third round, 6-7, 2-6.
