No.6 seed Mikhail Youzhny pulled out of their clash due to illness.
Novak will meet fourth-seeded Roger Federer on Friday for a place in the finals (15-16 career H2H). The Swiss beat Lukas Rosol 6-2, 6-2.
Djokovic will be looking to record the 550th victory of his career (549-133).
