Second seed Novak Djokovic began his quest for a record fourth Rolex Shanghai Masters championship when he defeated Jeremy Chardy 6-3, 7-5 on Tuesday.
Novak made tennis history on Sunday, becoming the first player to win all nine Masters 1000 titles since the series started in 1990. Djokovic claimed his 70th ATP Tour title with a 6-4, 6-4 victory over Roger Federer in the Western & Southern Open final.
