Serbia Open top seed Novak Djokovic will play his second round match on Wednesday, April 27, at 8pm, against the winner of tomorrow’s clash between Spaniard Ruben Ramirez Hidalgo and Romanian Adrian Ungur.
The world no.2 held his first press conference at the Tennis Center Novak. He said that every Serbian player enjoys playing matches in front of home crowd in Dorcol.
“We look forward to playing in front of our home crowd. I had health problems last year which prevented me to play, but it is much better now. I hope the fans will come in large numbers to support us, because this is a rare opportunity for us to all be in one place.”
Novak started this year with fantastic 24 victories in a row. He is aware that it won’t last forever.
“This season I haven’t lost a match, but it can not last forever. I don’t think about the record, and my priority is not to continue a run of 20 and more victories. My ambitions are much bigger, and it’s to win a Grand Slam title and to candidate for the first place. I know it will be difficult. Federer and Nadal are waiting in semi-finals, and Murray, Ferrer and Soderling should not be forgoten either.”
The good news is that health problems like last year’s allergy are past.
“I‘ve solved the problem with allergies. Changing diet has brought great results.”
