The iconic rivalry between Djokovic and Nadal recorded its final chapter on Saturday.

Novak Djokovic, a 24-time Grand Slam champion, claimed a 6-2, 7-6 (5) victory against the 22-time Major titlist Rafael Nadal in the third-place play-off at the Six Kings Slam, an exhibition event in Riyadh.

The Spaniard is set to retire at next month’s Davis Cup Finals in Malaga.

The two legends had faced each other a total of 60 times before this exhibition match in Saudi Arabia, and the stands were filled to witness this final showdown.

Nole and Rafa have embodied one of the greatest rivalries in the history of sport, over the past 16 years. Djokovic leads their head-to-head record 31-29.

With the triumph today, Novak won the third place.

Later tonight, world no.1 Jannik Sinner takes on world no.2 Carlos Alcaraz in the final.
