Novak was one of the hosts of the Laureus World Sports Awards held on Monday evening in Madrid, stepping into a role quite different from the one the sporting public is used to seeing him in.
The Serbian tennis star co-hosted the ceremony alongside Eileen Gu, and as a five-time winner of the World Sportsman of the Year award, he is very familiar with this prestigious stage.
Novak noted that this was a new experience for him, but one he truly enjoyed.
“This is one of my favorite events, and this year I’m hosting it. It’s a completely new role for me. There were a few nerves, but it’s exciting – I saw many familiar faces and I really looked forward to that,” Novak said.
The ceremony in Madrid gathered numerous stars from the world of sport, with the hosting duo of Djokovic and Gu leaving a particularly strong impression and adding extra shine to this prestigious event.
