Novak opened his 13th professional season at the Qatar ExxonMobil Open in Doha, and continued successfully at the 103rd edition of the Australian Open.
The world no.1 made history once again when he beat Andy Murray 7-6 (5), 6-7 (4), 6-3, 6-0 in the final, winning his eighth Grand Slam trophy and becoming the first man in Open Era to capture five Australian Open titles.
