The official nominations list for this year’s ESPY Awards is filled with amazing athletes, talented teams and riveting sports moments.
World no.1 Novak Djokovic has been nominated for ESPY Award in two categories:
1. BEST MALE TENNIS PLAYER
(along with Roger Federer and Andy Murray)
2. BEST INTERNATIONAL ATHLETE
(along with football stars Cristiano Ronaldo and Luis Suarez, boxer Canelo Alvarez and golfer Lydia Ko)
Fans can cast their votes online through July 13 (see links above).
Winners will be revealed during the 24th annual awards show at the Microsoft Theater, hosted by professional wrestler, rapper, actor and reality television show host John Cena, on July 13 in Los Angeles.
The ESPY, short for Excellence in Sports Performance Yearly, honours sports achievement in the past calendar year. It gathers top celebrities from sports and entertainment to commemorate the past year, reliving unforgettable moments and saluting the leading performers and performances.
Nole finished 2015 as the world no.1 for the fourth time. The 29-year-old Serbian star had another great season with a phenomenal 82-6 match record, including 11 titles – three Majors (Australian Open, Wimbledon, US Open), record six ATP World Tour Masters 1000 trophies (Indian Wells, Miami, Monte Carlo, Rome, Shanghai, Paris), one ATP 500 event (Beijing) and the season finale. He was also runner-up at Roland Garros.
Novak won the Best Male Tennis Player Award for achievements in 2011, 2012 and 2014.
