Novak Djokovic has been voted sportsman of the year in Serbia, at the popularity contest Oscar. The event was held in Belgrade’s Sava Center on February 9.
Our tennis player convincingly captured first place in his category, “male athlete of 2009”. The nominees were also swimmer Milorad Cavic and football player Nemanja Vidic.
”I thank from my heart everyone who voted for me. This appreciation means a lot to me and I can promise you I will give my best to bring many more reasons to Serbia to celebrate in the future.”
In the organisation of “Puls” magazine awards were given in 18 categories.
