World no.1 tennis player is one of 12 men nominated for the United States Sports Academy’s 2015 Male Athlete of the Year.
Novak, who finishes on top of the rankings for the fourth time in five seasons, was named the Academy’s March Athlete of the Month earlier this year, after winning the Indian Wells-Miami title double for the third time.
Stars like Tom Brady (Football, USA), Adam Peaty (Swimming, GBR), LeBron James (Basketball, USA), Usain Bolt (Track and Field, JAM), Stephen Curry (Basketball, USA) and Renaud Lavillenie (Track and Field, FRA) are among nominees.
The 31st Annual Athletes of the Year ballot is now open to the public for voting. The winner of this year’s awards will be announced on December 24.
Nole was the 2011 and 2014 Male Athlete of the Year.
The Athlete of the Year ballot is the culmination of the Academy’s yearlong Athlete of the Month program, which recognizes the accomplishments of men and women in sports around the globe.
