Excitement is building at the Qi Zhong Tennis Centre in Shanghai. Many of the world’s top names have gathered at the state-of-the-art venue to contest the 13th edition of the Rolex Shanghai Masters.
Four-time tournament champion Novak Djokovic is among stars who will take their place in the 96-player field, along with Jannik Sinner, Alexander Zverev, Carlos Alcaraz and Daniil Medvedev.
The Serbian ace will make his first appearance at the ATP Masters 1000 event since 2019. The 2012, 2013, 2015 and 2018 Shanghai Masters winner, is looking to win his record 40th ATP Masters 1000 trophy and 100th singles title of his career.
2024 singles draw ceremony has been held on Monday.
Asia’s biggest and most prestigious ATP tournament takes place from October 2-13. Thirty two seeds (1-32) got BYE in the first round.
Novak is the fourth seed. He will open campaign in the second round against Alex Michelsen (USA).
