Novak is ranked second in the latest ATP List with 12,330 points.
By reaching the finals of Roland Garros, Novak went a step further than last year and earned additional 480 ATP points. He is now only 170 points behind the top-ranked Nadal.
Latvian Ernests Gulbis broke into the top 10 for the first time.

Nole is second in the ATP Race to London list as well, with 5,250 points.
The 27-year-old Belgrade native will next play at the third Grand Slam event of the season, the Wimbledon, taking place in London from June 23 to July 6.
Last year, he finished runner-up to Andy Murray 4-6, 5-7, 4-6.
The Gentlemen’s Singles Draw for The Championships will be available on Friday, June 20.
