Australian Open: Nole vs Granollers in R1



The first Grand Slam tournament in 2011 begins in Melbourne on Monday, January 17, and will be held till January 30.

Nole lifted his first Grand Slam trophy at the Australian Open 2008, and hasn’t lost before quarterfinals in the last three years.

128 players will be fighting for two weeks for the title and 2000 ATP points. The winner will get 2 million euros.

The best Serbian player and the third seed of the tournament will start his bid for a second Grand Slam title against world no.42 Spaniard Marcel Granollers. The two players have never met before.

In the second round Djokovic will play against the winner of the match between Croats Ivo Karlovic and Ivan Dodig.

Rafael Nadal (ESP,1), Robin Soderling (SWE,4), Andy Murray (GBR,5)… are in the top part of the draw.

Roger Federer is a defending champion. The Swiss defeated Andy Murray in the finals in straight sets, 6-3, 6-4, 7-6.
