Davis Cup 2011: Serbia seeded no.1, R1 vs India!



The draw for the 2011 Davis Cup World Group has been made on Wednesday in Brussels (Belgium).

Serbia will face India in a home tie in the first round on 4-6 March 2011.

Potential quarter-final opponent is Russia, that match would be played in Belgrade.

Our team booked a place in the Davis Cup final for the first time in Serbia’s history, with a 3-2 win over Czech Republic last weekend.

The Davis Cup by BNP Paribas final between Serbia and France will take place in Belgrade from 3 -5 December 2010.

According to the Davis Cup regulations, the two finalist nations are seeded no.1 and no.2 in the World Group for the following year, and are drawn in opposite halves. Seeds 3-8 are in accordance with the latest ITF Davis Cup Nations Ranking: 3.Spain, 4.Czech Republic, 5.Argentina, 6.USA, 7.Russia, 8.Croatia.
