The best Serbian tennis player of all time, Novak Djokovic, had to retire tonight in his quarter-final match against young compatriot Filip Krajinovic at the ATP tournament in Belgrade, because of allergy.
”I had problems also in my first match here to deal with health problems. Allergy really bothers me,” said Novak after the match.
His Madrid participation next week is uncertain.
”My participation in Madrid is in doubt. I do not feel so good. That’s what my team and I will decide in the next 24 hours,” he added.
Novak said that health problems were temporary.
”How long they will be present, depends on the rest. When you have that kind of a problem, recovery requires rest, not physical effort. I’ll see about next week, but the most important for me is to play at Roland Garros and Wimbledon, the most important tournaments in this part of the season,” concluded Djokovic.
