Second-seeded Novak Djokovic defeated his compatriot world no.28 Viktor Troicki in straight sets 6-3, 6-0 in just 61 minutes to advance to quarterfinals of China Open.
This was their third match, Nole now leads 2-1.
One break was enough for Novak to take the fist set 6-3. World no.4 was even more convincing in the second set. He made three breaks to win it 6-0.
The 22-year old didn’t face a break point in beating his Davis Cup colleague. Nole capitalised on 4 of his 7 chances for break.
Djokovic will next play against no.5 seed Fernando Verdasco. They have met six times, Novak leads 4-2. The Spaniard beat his compatriot Juan Carlos Ferrero 7-5, 6-4.
