09. 05. 2009. · The draw has been made for the Mutua Madrilena Madrid Open (€3,700,000). The fifth Masters tournament of the season begins on Sunday, May 10th and will be held til May 17th.
The best Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic is third seed and has a first-round BYE. He will open his campaign against either Oscar Hernandez (ESP,WC) or Martin Vassallo Arguello (ARG).
Novak’s potential opponents in the later stages of the tournament are:
3rd round: Radek Stepanek (CZE,15), Andreas Seppi (ITA)
Quarterfinals: Gilles Simon (FRA,8), Jo-Wilfried Tsonga (FRA,9), Marat Safin (RUS)

Andy Murray won the Madrid title last year on indoor hard courts. This year the ATP World Tour Masters 1000 tournament will be played on outdoor clay for the first time.
