Nole safely into the third round of Wimbledon!



Fourth-seeded Novak Djokovic advanced to the third round of Wimbledon on Wednesday after a 7-5 6-1 6-4 victory over German Simon Greul in 2 hours.

Novak was broken in the opening game of the match. The German held to love to increase his lead to 2-0. The 22-year old started playing better in the middle of the set and broke his opponent’s service twice, in the 8th and 12th game for 7-5.

Just like in the first set, the second set started with a break for Greul, but Nole broke back immediately to level the score. The Serb raised the level of his game, made two more breaks to take the set 6-1, wining six games in a row.

Djokovic made a break at the beginning of the third set and then held for 2-0. The German broke back in the fourth game to level the result. Both players had trouble holding their service games. We saw a break on each side again for 3-3. Novak made a crucial break in the ninth game and then served it out for 6-4.

Djokovic served 14 aces to Greul’s 0, and made 6 double faults, 4 more than his opponent.
Novak hit 34 winners to Greul’s 25, and made 22 unforced errors to the German’s 39.
Djokovic converted 8 of his 15 break points, while Greul capitalised on 4 of his 10 chances for break.

Novak will next play against world no.25 Mardy Fish. The American defeated Serb Janko Tipsarevic in four sets, 6-4 3-6 6-1 6-4.
Djokovic and Fish have met twice, Novak leads 2-0.
