World no.2 Novak Djokovic will be second-seeded men’s player at the 2012 US Open.
The five-time Grand Slam winner is the defending champion.
Nole won his first title at Flushing Meadows last year (defeated Nadal in the finals), and finished runner-up twice, in 2007 and 2010.
The official draw ceremony, which will take place on Thursday about 13.30 local time (19.30 CET), will be attended by Nole and Sam Stosur.
