Novak opened his 14th professional season with a sixth Australian Open title at the 104th edition of the Grand Slam event in Melbourne.
The world no.1 made history once again when he beat Andy Murray 6-1, 7-5, 7-6 (3) in the final, winning his 11th major trophy and becoming the only man along the legendary Roy Emerson to capture six Australian Open crowns.
