Novak and Viktor successful in Indian Wells opener

World no.2 Novak Djokovic partnered his friend and Davis Cup teammate Viktor Troicki to a 2-6, 6-3, 10-7 victory over Rohan Bopanna (IND) and Pablo Cuevas (URU) on Friday.

Nole and Viktor needed 66 minutes to reach the second round of the BNP Paribas Open, an ATP World Tour Masters 1000 hard-court tennis event in Indian Wells.

They next take on top seeds Pierre-Hugues Herbert and Nicolas Mahut of France.

Novak will play his singles second round match at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden on Sunday about 16:00 local time (Monday 01:00 CET). His rival will be world no.46 Kyle Edmund (GBR, H2H 2-0).
