Rome Masters draw is out!


The draw has been made for the Internazionali BNL d’Italia.

Defending champion Novak Djokovic is third-seeded and has a BYE in the first round. He starts his title defence in the second round against either Albert Montanes (ESP) or Potito Starace (ITA).

Nole’s possible opponents in the later stages of the tournament are:

3rd round: Tommy Robredo (ESP,13), Marat Safin (RUS), Philipp Kohlschreiber (GER)
Quarterfinal: Juan Martin del Potro (ARG,5), Stanislas Wawrinka (SUI,10)
Semifinal: Roger Federer (SUI,2), Gilles Simon (FRA,8), David Ferrer (ESP,11)

Rafael Nadal (ESP,1), Andy Murray (GBR,4), Fernando Verdasco (ESP,6), Nikolay Davydenko (RUS,7) are in the other half of the draw.

40 of the top 44 players will participate at the ATP World Tour Masters 1000 event in Rome (clay, € 2,750,000). The tournament starts on Monday, April 27.

Last year Novak lifted the trophy beating Stanislas Wawrinka in the finals, 4:6, 6:3, 6:3.
