Serbia needs one more win over Croatia to reach the World Group semi-finals for the first time.
Doubles world no.1 Nenad Zimonjic and his teammate Janko Tipsarevic have beaten Croatian duo Marin Cilic and Ivan Dodig in straight sets 6-3, 6-2, 6-4 in 1 hour and 58 minutes on Saturday to give Serbia a 2-1 lead in the Davis Cup by BNP Paribas World Group quarter-final tie that is being played on an indoor hard court at the Spaladium Arena in Split.
This was Zimonjic and Tipsarevic’s third time playing Davis Cup doubles together and they now have a 2-1 record in the competition.
Serbian no.1 Novak Djokovic has the first opportunity to clinch the vital point for Serbia, as he plays against world no.13 Marin Cilic on Sunday at 12:00 CET. Nole leads Cilic 4-0 in previous meetings.
The second match sees Viktor Troicki take on Ivan Ljubicic.
Team captains have the right to change the players until an hour before the match.
