2022

Novak beat Stefanos Tsitsipas 6-0, 7-6 (5) in the final of the Internazionali BNL d’Italia to capture his first title of the season and a record-extending 38th ATP Masters 1000 crown. A day before, he secured the 1000th victory of his career becoming the fifth man, after Jimmy Connors, Roger Federer, Ivan Lendl and Rafael Nadal, to reach the milestone.

The best Serbian tennis player captured his seventh crown at the most prestigious tennis tournament in the world, the Wimbledon, and is now level with Pete Sampras’ tally of singles trophies won at the All England Lawn Tennis Club. Playing in a record 32nd Grand Slam final, Novak defeated Nick Kyrgios 4-6, 6-3, 6-4, 7-6 (3) to lift his 88th career trophy and 21st major title overall.

In October, Novak sealed back-to-back titles in tournament debut appearances in Tel Aviv, Israel (ATP 250), and Astana, Kazakhstan (ATP 500), and qualified for the Nitto ATP Finals for the 15th time.

Novak ended the 2022 season in style, winning his fifth title this year. He beat Casper Ruud 7-5, 6-3 in the championship match of the Nitto ATP Finals in Turin to equal Roger Federer’s record haul of six titles at the prestigious year-end event. The Serbian star will end the year as world no.5.
