Draper stuns Novak in thrilling Indian Wells clash
The five-time BNP Paribas Open champion took the first set to seize the early initiative, but could not maintain his rhythm in the following sets. British 14th seed Jack Draper capitalized on his chances in the second and third sets, emerging victorious 4-6, 6-4, 7-6 (5) in a thrilling contest that lasted two hours and 35 minutes.

Novak’s Indian Wells campaign ended unexpectedly early, as he suffered a second-round defeat in his first match at the tournament. Dutchman Botic van de Zandschulp, ranked 85th in the world, pulled off a major upset, defeating the five-time champion 6-2, 3-6, 6-1.

Top seed Novak Djokovic defeated world no.69 Aleksandar Vukic 6-2, 5-7, 6-3 to advance into the third round at the BNP Paribas Open. It is his first appearance in the Indian Wells Tennis Garden since 2019.
