Novak falls to Popyrin in R3 of the US Open
Defending champion Novak Djokovic was eliminated at the 2024 US Open on Friday night after a 4-6, 4-6, 6-2, 4-6 third round loss to 28th seed Alexei Popyrin.
US Open: Novak advances to R3 after Djere retires
Four-time US Open champion advanced to the third round on Wednesday evening when his countryman Laslo Djere retired early in the third set. The second seed led 6-4, 6-4, 2-0 before the retirement under the closed roof of Arthur Ashe Stadium.
Novak eases through in New York, faces Djere in R2
Novak began his 2024 US Open campaign with a dominant first-round victory in Arthur Ashe Stadium. The defending champion defeated qualifier Radu Albot 6-2, 6-2, 6-4 in two hours and seven minutes. Next up for Djokovic is Laslo Djere.

No.2 seed Novak Djokovic will open campaign in his 18th US Open appearance against Radu Albot (MDA, Q). Competitions at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows begin on August 26, and will last until September 8.
