{nl}Photo: AP<\/font>{nl}{nl}Serbian star Novak Djokovic has been the world’s best player this year and that will finally show in rankings on Monday, July 4, when the new ATP Ranking list is released.{nl}{nl}The 24-year-old sealed Wimbledon semi-final victory with a service winner and screamed with delight before falling to his knees and kissing the grass.{nl}{nl}“It feels amazing. When I finished the match I didn’t know how to show my emotions,” <\/b>said Nole. “This is one of those moments where you can’t describe it with the words. You remember all your career, all your childhood, everything you worked for that comes true now.”{nl}{nl}”It’s one of the best feelings I’ve ever had on the tennis court. My dreams are coming true, a first final at Wimbledon,”<\/b> the second seed said.{nl}{nl}“I’ve been working all my life for this. I’ve been dreaming about playing the finals of Wimbledon since I started playing tennis when I was 4. To be able to be there on Sunday will probably be the best feeling.”<\/b>{nl}{nl}“It’s definitely one of the most important achievements and days in my life, in my career. We are all dedicated to this sport one hundred per cent. When you know you’re going to be the best in the world and you’re reaching the finals of your favourite tournament, it’s something special. There were times in the last two, three years where it was really difficult for me, when I was losing most of those important matches at the later stages of the majors against Nadal and Federer. But I’ve always believed in myself. I have to say there were times when I questioned myself, but I always overcame it because the belief was so strong. I knew that if I worked hard, worked on my game to improve it, get it to the stage where I feel comfortable, I could beat those guys. On the other side, they make you improve. Because they are so good, you have to come up with your best tennis.”<\/b>{nl}{nl}Novak says that winning Wimbledon, the tournament he grew up watching as a child, is something he wants more than anything, and conceding his place at the top of the rankings will be just a consolation if he does not win tomorrow’s final.{nl}{nl}“Being number one is good but I have to make it count now, of course.”<\/b><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
