Novak is a top seed and will open his bid for 87th tour-level title in R2 against compatriot Laslo Djere (ATP #50).<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Novak\u2019s potential rivals in the later stages of the tournament are:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Quarter-finals<\/strong>: Miomir Kecmanovic (SRB, 7), Dominic Thiem (AUT)<br \/>\n<strong>Semi-finals<\/strong>: Karen Khachanov (RUS, 3), Filip Krajinovic (SRB, 8)<br \/>\n<strong>Finals<\/strong>: Andrey Rublev (RUS, 2), Aslan Karatsev (RUS, 4), Cristian Garin (CHI, 5), Fabio Fognini (ITA, 6)<\/p>\n<p>Novak has won the title in his hometown twice (2009, 2011).<\/p>\n<p>Last year, when the ATP Tour returned to Belgrade for the first time in nine years, Novak fell to Aslan Karatsev in the semi-finals.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/new.tickets.rs\/tour\/serbia_open_2022_185?Lng=EN\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tickets<\/a><\/p>\n<p><em>Photo: Getty Images<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>An ATP 250 clay-court event will be held from April 18 to April 24 at the Novak Tennis Center.
