Eight seeds (1-8) get BYE in the first round.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Record six-time champion Novak is no.6 seed and will open his quest for a seventh title in the second round against Maxime Cressy (ATP no.34).<\/strong> It will be their first career encounter.<\/p>\n<p>The French-born American eliminated Diego Schwartzman (ARG) 6-3, 6-3.<\/p>\n<p>Novak\u2019s possible opponents in the later stages of the competition are:<\/p>\n<p>3rd round: Jannik Sinner (ITA, 11), Karen Khachanov (RUS)<br \/>\nQuarter-finals: Casper Ruud (NOR, 3), Marin Cilic (CRO, 15)<br \/>\nSemi-finals: Rafael Nadal (ESP, 2), Stefanos Tsitsipas (GRE, 5)<\/p>\n<p>Finals: Carlos Alcaraz (ESP, 1), Daniil Medvedev (RUS, 4), Andrey Rublev (RUS, 7)<\/p>\n<p>It will be Novak\u2019s 16th appearance at the Paris Masters.
