{"id":167138,"date":"2024-04-22T21:55:53","date_gmt":"2024-04-22T19:55:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/novakdjokovic.com\/?p=167138"},"modified":"2024-04-22T22:45:27","modified_gmt":"2024-04-22T20:45:27","slug":"novak-wins-2024-laureus-sportsman-of-the-year-award","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/novakdjokovic.com\/en\/news\/media\/novak-wins-2024-laureus-sportsman-of-the-year-award\/","title":{"rendered":"Novak wins 2024 Laureus Sportsman of the Year Award!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Nole is the 2024 Laureus World Sportsman of the Year!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>World No.1 Novak Djokovic was named the Laureus World Sportsman of the Year for the fifth time in a ceremony in Madrid on Monday, matching Roger Federer&#8217;s record as the most decorated male sportsman in this category.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The prestigious <a href=\"https:\/\/www.laureus.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Laureus Awards<\/a> celebrated its 25th edition at the Cibeles Palace.<\/p>\n<p>Many of the biggest names from the world of sport, past and present, were there to honour the greatest sportsmen, sportswomen and teams from 2023.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Djokovic previously clinched the award in 2012, 2015, 2016 and 2019.<\/strong> His exceptional performance in 2023, highlighted by seven titles including <strong>three Grand Slam trophies (Australian Open, Roland Garros and US Open)<\/strong>, two Masters 1000 crowns, an ATP 250 tournament \u2013 Adelaide International 1, and the <strong>Nitto ATP Finals<\/strong>, earned him another nomination and recognition.
