World no.1 Novak Djokovic secured a 7-5, 6-1 win as he beat Tallon Griekspoor to move into the semi-finals of the Gonet Geneva Open<\/a> in 77 minutes on Thursday.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The 37-year-old Serbian star served at 4-5, 0\/40, a game during which he fended off four set points. He managed to break his opponent in the 11th game and served it out to close the topsy-turvy first set.<\/p>\n

From there, it was a one-way traffic for Novak, who broke the Dutchman three times in the second set, in the first, third and seventh games, to advance.<\/p>\n

“Great win. The first set could have gone his way easily because I think he was the better player for most of the first set,” Djokovic said in his on-court interview. “He had three set points.\u00a0 We could have been having a completely different direction of the match if he converted those. I was lucky to find some really good serves and from that moment onwards really played some good, solid tennis. He did help me a bit with the mistakes, I think the way I played the second set was really good. So I want to thank everybody again for the support and presence today on a cold day.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The top-seeded Novak will next face Tomas Machac.<\/strong> The Czech is through to his first semis following a 6-3, 7-6 victory over Alex Michelsen.<\/p>\n

Djokovic, a 24-time Grand Slam winner, is playing in the ATP 250 tournament in Switzerland for the first time as preparation for the French Open.<\/p>\n
