Nole is through to his second Olympic Games semi-finals!<\/p>\n

The five-time Grand Slam champion defeated no.5 seed Frenchman Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in straight sets 6-1, 7-5 on Thursday.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Second-seeded Serbian, who is making his second appearance at an Olympic Games, converted 4 of his 13 break point opportunities and wrapped up victory in 80 minutes.<\/p>\n

Djokovic was on form from the first shot. He was dominant in the opening set winning it 6-1 with a double break in just 32 minutes.<\/p>\n

Tsonga had a better second set start. He had a 3-0 lead, but Novak broke back in the fifth game and held to level the result. The 25-year-old Belgrade native made a crucial break in 11th game and served out the set and match 7-5 to set up a last four clash with Andy Murray.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m very satisfied with my game today,\u201d<\/strong> Serbia’s medal hope said. \u201cI was very sharp, very aggressive from the start. I think it was the windiest day I\u2019ve played here in recent years\u2026 So I\u2019m really satisfied that I managed to find a way to play well.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

Match statistics<\/span>: aces (3-5), double faults (0-0), winners (22-18), unforced errors (11-19), total points won (75-54).<\/p>\n

Britain\u2019s third seed ousted Spaniard Nicolas Almagro 6-4, 6-1.<\/p>\n

Nole has won eight of their 13 career encounters, last in Miami Masters final 6-1, 7-6(4).<\/p>\n

Looking ahead to the match, Djokovic said: “Murray has been playing better than ever on grass courts. I will have to be at the top of my game.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n
