World no.2 Novak Djokovic will have the opportunity to win his first Cincinnati crown after runner-up efforts in 2008 (l. to Murray), 2009 (l. to Federer) and 2011 (l. to Murray).<\/strong><\/p>\n

The 25-year-old Serbian star rolled past no.6 seed Juan Martin del Potro 6-3, 6-2 in 87 minutes\u00a0on Saturday\u00a0in the semi-finals of the ATP World Tour Masters 1000 event.<\/p>\n

After saving four break points in the third game, Novak earned three opportunities to break, but del Potro held for 2-2. The Argentine double-faulted on break point in the sixth game and Nole sealed the set three games later.<\/p>\n

Djokovic kept the momentum going. He broke his opponent\u2019s serve twice in the second set and served out the match for a place in the final.<\/p>\n

\u201cI try to step into the court and take my chances. It’s what I have been trying to do in last couple of years,\u201d<\/strong> said Novak. \u201cObviously sometimes it works, sometimes not, but it’s been working quite often for me actually in last two weeks. I’m happy for that.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

Match statistics<\/span>: aces (6-3), double faults (1-2), winners (15-11), unforced errors (18-27), total points won (64-45).<\/p>\n

Nole will face top seed Roger Federer in the Western & Southern Open<\/a> final on Sunday at 12:30 local time (18:30 CET).<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Swiss beat his countryman world no.26 Stanislas Wawrinka 7-6, 6-3.<\/p>\n

It will be the 28th career encounter between Nole and Roger. The 31-year-old Basel native leads their H2H 15-12. They last met in this year\u2019s Wimbledon semi-final, Federer won 6-3, 3-6, 6-4, 6-3.<\/p>\n

Djokovic is bidding to win his fourth trophy in 2012 and 32nd career title.<\/p>\n

He has compiled a 54-9 match record this year (29-2 on hard), highlighted by titles at the Australian Open, Miami Masters and Rogers Cup in Toronto.<\/p>\n
