Serbian duo of world no.1 Novak Djokovic and no.4-ranked doubles specialist Nenad Zimonjic beat Croatian counterparts Franko Skugor and Marin Draganja in straight sets 6-3, 6-4, 6-1 to give the 2010 Davis Cup winner an unassailable 3-0 lead in their Davis Cup by BNP Paribas<\/a> World Group first round tie.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The match in Kraljevo’s packed Sports Centre lasted one hour and 49 minutes.<\/p>\n

Djokovic was a replacement for Viktor Troicki who played five sets against Coric on Friday.<\/p>\n

Nole produced another great performance alongside Nenad. The pair broke five times from 16 opportunities, having held serve throughout the contest.<\/p>\n

“It doesn’t happen often that we seal the deal in just two days,”<\/strong> said Novak. “We did everything right from the first to the last point. We didn’t face any break points and we dominated the match. I’m glad because I haven’t played with Nenad in a long time. We played at a high level and that’s something that gives us confidence for the next one.”<\/strong><\/p>\n

Match statistics<\/span>: aces (7-1), double faults (0-6), winners (37-21), unforced errors (12-15), total points won (101-67).<\/p>\n

In the dead singles rubbers on Sunday, Filip Krajinovic beat Franko Skugor 6-4, 6-2, while Viktor Troicki outplayed Mate Delic 6-4, 6-3.<\/p>\n

Serbia will play against Argentina (away) in the Davis Cup quarter-final (17-19 July).<\/strong><\/p>\n
