Singles draw was made for Monte-Carlo Rolex Masters<\/a>, the first ATP World Tour Masters 1000 event on clay in 2016.<\/p>\n

Novak is a top seed and has a first-round BYE. He will face world no.55, Jiri Vesely (CZE), in round two. They have never met before.
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

Novak\u2019s potential rivals in the later stages of the tournament are:<\/p>\n

3rd round<\/strong>: Gael Monfils (FRA, 13), Fabio Fognini (ITA)
\nQuarter-final<\/strong>: David Ferrer (ESP, 7), David Goffin (BEL, 11), Fernando Verdasco (ESP)
\nSemi-final<\/strong>: Roger Federer (SUI, 3), Jo-Wilfried Tsonga (FRA, 8), Richard Gasquet (FRA, 9)<\/p>\n

Andy Murray (GBR, 2), Stan Wawrinka (SUI, 4), Rafael Nadal (ESP, 5), Tomas Berdych (CZE, 6) \u2026 are in the bottom half of the draw and Nole can\u2019t meet them before the final.<\/p>\n

The tournament began on Sunday, April 10, and will be played until April 17.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Last year, Djokovic won his 2nd crown beating Tomas Berdych in the final (7-5, 4-6, 6-3).<\/p>\n

This will be Novak\u2019s tenth appearance at the Monte Carlo Country Club (28-7 record).<\/p>\n
