After a blistering first half of 2011, world no.1 Novak Djokovic has eight titles to his name this season. The 24-year-old Serb is aiming for more trophies.

The ATP rankings as of Monday, July 25, prove he is the best player on the planet at the moment.

After he was crowned Wimbledon champion and the 25th player to rank no.1 in the ATP rankings, Nole came back to Belgrade where he was greeted by 100,000 Serbian fans. He then joined his teammates in Halmstad for the Davis Cup quarter-final tie against Sweden. The reigning champions booked semi-final spot for the second year in a row. They will host Argentina in Belgrade Arena in September.

Like other top players in the men’s tour, Novak has taken time off to rest and enjoy his success. The time has now come to start preparing for the US Open Series hard court season in North America. Nole is competing in the two ATP Masters at Montreal and Cincinnati, and then at Flushing Meadows where he hopes to win his first ever US Open title.

The world’s top players Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer will be participating at the Rogers cup which is scheduled to be held from August 8 to 14, 2011.

The top four seeds, Nole, Rafa, Roger and Andy, have been the champions since 2004. Djokovic was the champion in 2007, Federer won Rogers cup in 2004 and 2006, Nadal won it in 2005 and 2008, while the British world no.4, Murray, is the two-time defending champion, he won the Canadian Masters in 2009 and 2010.

The Rogers Cup offers $ 2,430,000 in prize money and attracts the biggest stars in tennis.

The draw for the ATP World Tour Masters 1000 event will be held on Friday, August 5, afternoon local time.
