No.4 seed Novak Djokovic advanced to the quarter-finals of the Australian Open without stepping onto the court, after his opponent Jakub Mensik withdrew from the tournament.

The pair had been due to clash in the night session on Rod Laver Arena on Monday, but an abdominal injury has forced the rising Czech star to pull out.

The Serbian tennis player will face Lorenzo Musetti (ITA, 5) in the quarterfinals of the Australian Open on Wednesday. Musetti came through his match against Taylor Fritz (USA, 9) without major difficulties.

It will be their 11th head-to-head meeting, with Novak holding a 9–1 lead.
