Nole will play in his fourth Wimbledon semi-final on Friday.
With a 6-4, 6-1, 6-4 victory over no.31 seed German Florian Mayer in 1 hour and 45 minutes on Wednesday, the world no.1 is only two wins away from defending his title at the most prestigious tournament in the world.
Novak got broken in the fifth game, but he fought back immediately to level the result. The top seed was leading 4-3 when the match was suspended. Mayer had saved a break point before rain intervened. He held when play resumed and earned three break points in the ninth game. Nole save all three and broke Mayer in the following game to clinch the opener in 40 minutes.
Djokovic made a double break in the second set for convincing 6-1 in just 25 minutes.
He broke Mayer decisively at 4-4 in the third set, before saving three break points in the final game to close out the straight sets victory.
“I had a little trouble adjusting to the sun and to outdoor conditions because I played last three matches indoors. So it took me a bit of time to get into the rhythm,” Novak said. ”It was a tricky first set obviously. It was important for me to get a set lead, and after that I played much better.”

Novak has dropped only one set in five matches en route to the last four.
The 25-year-old Belgrade native will face six-time Wimbledon champion Roger Federer in a widely-anticipated semi-final clash. The Swiss beat Russian Mikhail Youzhny 6-1, 6-2, 6-1.
It will be their 27th career meeting, and first ever at the All England Club!
Federer leads their H2H 14-12, Novak won both encounters in 2012, in Rome and Paris.
“It is a challenge when you play Roger and Rafa or any of the top players,” said Nole. “Roger has been on the top of the men’s game for so long. This is where he won six titles. He definitely wants to prove himself and to everybody else that he can win it once again. Today he won incredibly fast, in straight sets, so we’ll see. I’m playing well, I believe. We both have to play at our best in order to get a win.”
