Novak visited the NYSE with representatives from Tuesday’s Children!

On Friday, September 11th , 2009, world no.4 Novak Djokovic visited the New York Stock Exchange. He joined Tuesday’s Children child Christopher Quakenbush and his mother Traci Viklund on the podium. They rang The Closing Bell in remembrance of September 11th.

Tuesday’s Children is a family service organisation founded by family and friends of September 11th victims. They visited the NYSE to mark the eighth anniversary of September 11th terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center when nearly 3,000 people died.

Novak has been supporting the families of victims from the very beginning of the US Open. He hosted a Tuesday’s Children child in each match he played at the tournament.

Due to the bad weather, the rain and the wind in New York in the last two days, the organisers had to change the schedule of the remaining matches. The decision has been made that the men’s semi-finals will be played on Sunday (Novak vs Federer about 22.30 CET) and the final on Monday.

‘I did not expect to have an extra day off, but I immediately came up with an idea what I could do. My new coach Tod Martin is a great golf player. I think we’re going on a golf court. We will practice a little bit, not too much’, said Novak.
