Novak has taken the Ice Bucket Challenge to strike out ALS.
The Serbian world no.1 had been nominated by a handful of individuals, including One Direction’s Niall Horan, and tennis colleagues Bernard Tomic and Sabine Lisicki, and accepted the challenge on Tuesday.
“Hello everybody, I want to thank all the good people for helping spread awareness about this noble cause,” he said, before challenging Michael Jordan, Mr. Bean (Rowan Atkinson) and Austrian singer Conchita Wurst.
Nole paused to do a little dance to “Ice, Ice Baby” in preparation, and continued the dance after being drenched with the icy water.
“I’m proud to donate and be part of this great movement to defeat the disease,” Novak added in a Faceook post.
The challenge raises awareness of the nature of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord.
