Novak donates $ 100,000 to Gracanica monastery

After winning the Indian Wells Masters tournament, Novak provided a donation of 100,000 US dollars for the Gracanica monastery.

This donation to the monastery in Gracanica, and the Diocese of Raska and Prizren, is intended for the redemption of land parcels Padaliste close to the monastery property. The monastery was forced to buy the mentioned parcel at a very high price because otherwise the property would have been permanently alienated from the monastery and the Church, which would have had a long-term consequences for the entire Serbian community in Gracanica.

The donation for the Gracanica monastery was given through the Humanitarian Fund NOVAK working with a whole hearted support of Mr Gennady Timchenko, a prominent businessman and benefactor from Russia.

Along with his accomplishments in the field of sport, where he bravely and in a courtly manner represents his nation, Novak has distinguished himself with his charitable activities, fervent and sincere helping the suffering people of Kosovo and Metohija. In addition to his regular help to monasteries Hilandar and St. Archangels near Prizren, Novak’s Foundation has been supporting and providing scholarships for children, especially from Kosovo, through the Foundation “Naša Srbija” (Our Serbia). The Fund has had a number of similar actions since its establishment, such as donation of ambulance to hospital in Kosovska Mitrovica, help for building playgrounds for children with disabilities in Banja Luka, donations to Kraljevo and Loznica, cities recently hit by earthquake and floods.
