Serbia needs two more wins over Argentina to reach the World Group finals for the second time.
Doubles specialist Nenad Zimonjic came to the rescue on Saturday as he teamed up with Viktor Troicki to keep Serbia’s hopes alive in their Davis Cup World Group semi-final tie against Argentina.
The duo scored a 7-6(4), 6-4, 6-2 win over the Argentine pair of Juan Monaco and Juan Ignacio Chela in Belgrade Arena, to bring the first point to the team of Serbia.
The defending champion lost the opening two singles matches on Friday, but now they’re back in the game. Nothing is impossible, they already came back twice from 1-2 down after the second day, both against Czech Republic and France last year.
World no.1 Novak Djokovic or Viktor Troicki will have the opportunity to clinch the second point for Serbia against Juan Martin Del Potro on Sunday at 14:00 CET.
The second match sees Janko Tipsarevic take on David Nalbandian.
