Nole beats Tsonga and Miami heat!

Novak Djokovic reached semifinals at the Sony Ericsson Open with a 6:3, 6:4 win over Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in 1 hour and 55 minutes.

Novak played really well in the first set. He broke Tsonga’s service in the sixth game and that was enough to win the set 6:3.

Serbian player broke his opponent’s service in the fifth game of the second set, but he already wasn’t feeling well on court. He was struggling serving at 4:3. Novak saved two break points in the game that lasted 15 minutes.

The third seeded Djokovic was serving for match when Tsonga had chance to equalize the score. The Serb gave the last atom of his strength, saved another two break points and closed the match 6:4.

“I have to be very happy with today’s performance, because I have been struggling to find a way to win against him in the last four encounters,” said Djokovic. “It was all so close, so I just knew that I need to stick in and try to wait for my chances and be aggressive. Today I think I tried to be closer to the line, more in control, and just put the pressure on him. Overall, I’m really satisfied.”

This was his second win over Tsonga in six matches.

Nole will face Roger Federer (def. Andy Roddick) in the semifinals on Friday.
