Second seed Novak Djokovic needed just 52 minutes to crush world no.59 Czech Jan Hernych 6-0, 6-0 for a place in the quarter-finals at the Davidoff Swiss Indoors Basel (ATP World Tour 500).
Nole broke his opponent’s service six times, in second, fourth and sixth game of each set.
Hernych failed to capitalise on his three chances for break in the fifth game of the first set. Djokovic was dominating in the match, and the Czech just couldn’t find a solution for his impressive game.
Novak will next face no.6 seed Swiss Stanislas Wawrinka who beat world no.122 Jarkko Nieminen of Finland in three sets.
Djokovic and Wawrinka have met 8 times, Nole leads 6-2.
