Novak back in action in Toronto

World no.2 Novak Djokovic starts his US Open Series campaign (he has 1500 ATP points to defend) on August 9, at the Rogers Cup, an ATP World Tour Masters 1000 tournament in Toronto, Canada.

The Serb won 180 points last year. He lost to American Andy Roddick in quarter-finals.

A week later, there is one more ATP World Tour Masters 1000 tournament, Western & Southern Financial Group Masters, where Novak won 600 ATP points last year by reaching finals. Total financial commitment of the event in Cincinnati is $ 3,000,000.

The 23-year-old Belgrade native will then take a week off before he heads to New York to defend semi-finals at the last Grand Slam in 2010 – US Open.

After US Open, Djokovic will return to Belgrade for the Davis Cup World Group semi-final tie against Czech Republic (17-19 September) in Belgrade Arena.

Novak then goes to Asia and will participate at two tournaments in China: China Open in Beijing (4-10 October) where he goes as a defending champion, and ATP World Tour Masters 1000 event in Shanghai (10-17 October) where he reached semi-finals in 2009.
