Nole reached the third round at Roland Garros for the 18th consecutive year.
Two-time Roland Garros champion Novak Djokovic continued his bid for a record 23rd major crown recording a 7-6 (2), 6-0, 6-3 win over world no.83 Marton Fucsovics on Wednesday.
The third seed produced a strong performance, breaking his rival eight times from 12 opportunities.
Novak came through a titanic 88-minute first set, claiming a tie-break 7-2 to gain advantage. From then on, it was mostly plain sailing for the 36-year-old Serbian star.
Djokovic extended his perfect ATP H2H series record against the Hungarian to 5-0, and improved to 22-4 on the season after two hours and 44 minutes.
Match statistics: aces (2-1), double faults (3-6), winners (28-28), unforced errors (32-35).
Novak will next meet no.29 seed Alejandro Davidovich Fokina (2-1 H2H record). The Spaniard defeated Luca van Assche 6-4, 6-3, 7-6 (6).
