On September 30, Novak is returning to the city where he has never known defeat.
The best Serbian tennis player will compete at the China Open in Beijing after 11 years, returning to the 500-series tournament where he has participated six times and won the title every single time.
In his previous appearances at the tournament in the Chinese capital, Novak has played 29 matches with a perfect record. He last played in Beijing in 2015, when he defeated Rafael Nadal in the final.
This will be Novak’s first tournament following his participation in the US Open.
“I am very happy to announce that after many years I am returning to Beijing for the China Open. I am very excited to come back and play in front of all of you at the National Tennis Center, one of the most beautiful places in tennis, a place where I have incredible memories and great successes throughout my career. I want to thank all the Chinese fans for their long-standing love and support over the years. I can’t wait to play in front of you,” Novak said.
